We are receiving more rain and showers - the forecast is for another inch or two by the time the storms move out later in the week. During the rain and rising river, fishing has been productive. Some caddises have been seen hatching early in the day, and a number of trout were taken on an Elk Hair Caddis size #14, which provided just the right amount of visibility in the high and fast water. In addition, fishing below the surface with nymphs (the old Irish tradition of fishing 3 wet flies/nymphs) was especially productive in the afternoon. Trout have been rising with more frequency heading into the evening up until dark;  lighter colored mayflies (sulphurs) have been hatching and on the water, encouraging rising fish.
