The Beaverkill has continued to rise with the heavy rain showers that were pretty localized - the Turnwood/Lew Beach area was hit especially hard with power and telephone outages for several days - word has it that Dai Bosatsu Zendo lost its interior roads in the deluge. the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls peaked during the middle of the night at about 15,000 cubic feet per second - quite a contrast from three days before when it was flowing at just 76 cubic feet per second, well below the average flow. Our rivers and streams look angry - high, brown and muddy. It will be a few days before there is any decent fishing again.
