Great start to the day…on a sunrise walk with Tessie along the Willowemoc we saw a merganser run across the water and then fly off…..shortly afterward saw several fish rising in the pool…..and then a bald eagle, which flew across and upriver.
Balmy temperatures in the 60s - the rain showers ceased and it was warm and overcast much of the day…between 1:30 to 3:30, fishing on the Beaverkill was excellent. Some small caddis hatching as well as some mayflies…..Quill Gordons?, Blue Quills? Lots of fish rising, my husband caught a total of fourteen, thirteen browns and one rainbow. One brown was in the 12-13" range, all the other trout were between 14-16” - twelve on #14 Elk Hair Caddis and two on a #14 Adams.
